Helping Kids Maintain Their Relationship with Their Parents
The Service for Supervised Access Rights helps children maintain relationships with both of their parents in a safe environment when difficult family situations arise.
A parent who has lost the right to contact his or her child after a separation or a parent who must keep his or her home address confidential for safety reasons can use this service. In order to access the service, he or she must obtain an order from the Superior Court or a written and signed agreement with the parent who has custody of the child.
End of the Supervised Access Rights Program in March 2026
We have made the difficult decision to shut down the Supervised Access Rights program in March 2026, when our current funding agreement comes to an end. This decision is part of process we started to simplify our service offering to ensure the organization’s long-term viability. We would like to work with the community to facilitate a respectful transition for participants, without disrupting services for children and families.
We thank you for the trust you have placed in us until now. Together, let’s congratulate the team at the Centre Desjardins for their dedication and the support they have offered families over the years.
Three organizations located on the Island of Montreal now offer these services:
We invite you to contact these organizations directly or the Quebec Network of Access Rights Supervision Resources for more information about these services.
If you were previously under our care, we encourage you to consult your DPJ caseworker regarding the status of your case or to contact your attorney.
